Nyahsa

Meet Nyahsa Ysrayl

Nyahsa Ysrayl is a visionary leader and founder of Elevated Grounds (EG). EG is an Education and Wellness Consulting Agency dedicated to human transformation through the fusion of cutting-edge Al technology, emotional intelligence, and ancient wisdom. EG is deeply committed to Self -Elevation to invoke meaningful impact for the greater good of humanity and Mother Earth. Nyahsa designs creative, culturally-centered community programs that fosters wellness, healing, and empowerment. Her practice is rooted in Energy Medicine and sacred philosophies, emphasizing balance, harmony, and community. Through energetic and holistic self-care practices, Nyahsa supports individuals on their journey to self-transtormation.

Nyahsa is a Certified Masters level Social Worker, and an Integrative Energy Healing Practitioner specializing in EFT through The National Emotional Freedom Techniques Training Institute (NeftTl). She draws from modalities = such as Ecotherapy, CBT Somatic and Music Therapy, EMDR, Heart Coherence, and Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) to promote healing and resilience. Elevated Grounds originated from Nyahsa’s MSW research paper in 2006, which explored innovative approaches to tackling mental health and socio-economic challenges faced by racialized youth in East Scarborough. Her work highlighted the need for arts based, community-driven and culturally responsive _ solutions, particularly for Afro-Caribbean youth facing systemic barriers. Recognizing the shortcomings of traditional mental health systems, Nyahsa developed a decolonized, community-based social enterprise rooted in social inclusion, cultural sensitivity, and economic empowerment. One of EG’s standout initiatives is its Social Enterprise Model, where youth use their lived experiences to create and perform educational theatrical productions.

Under the guidance of Nyahsa, these Young changemakers travelled all over Southeren Ontario and artistically shared their lived experiences from a cultural, authentic and creative approach. Their relatable and compelling stories reduced stigma, promoted resilience, they practiced self-advocacy and empowered other young people to share their stories and seek help. Nyahsa_ built meaningful collaborations with organizations like The Ontario Provincial Advocate for Children and Youth, Ontario Works, School Boards across the GTA, The Canadian Mental Health Commission, Children’s Aid Societies, CAMH and the Ministry of Social Services. Nyahsa honors the enduring wisdom of her late elder, Leyland Gudge, whose guidance remains a foundational force behind Elevated Grounds. His influence continues to inspire her vision.

Pre/Post Evaluation & Summative

Pre and Post Surveys

Implementing pre and post-assessments in the delivery of our program will be crucial for measuring effectiveness and guiding improvements. This approach not only helps in tailoring the program to better meet the needs of the participants but also provides valuable insights into the program's impact, ensuring that resources are used efficiently and that the program evolves to achieve its goals effectively.

End of Program Summative

An end-of-program summative presentation is crucial for showcasing the students' achievements to the community, caregivers, and stakeholders. It highlights students' skills, growth, and the program's effectiveness, while also fostering a sense of accomplishment and transparency.
